Besides i test for over 24 hours...

this is where my screen shot of 100 some odd hours of prime 95 would go if i could find it.

Interesting I'll just have to keep a mental note of that,could prove to be useful sometime.

I am sure it's because you actually are more stable... just means you weren't fully stable before.

That doesn't mean that you are fully stable because errors aren't popping up there and it doesn't mean you aren't stable if errors pop up there. As much as I love Windows 7 it still isn't perfect and errors will occur regardless of hardware stability.

Like I said, you can't use any single program to test stability. Prime and linx are by no means perfect.

I have passed 50 rounds of IBT, 36+ hours of prime, and then proceed to fail after 3 hours of folding.

xNAPx:  I have some questions for you:

 

1. How many hours of Prime95's Custom Blend test?  How much memory did you tell it to use?  Which version of Prime95 (this is very important) did you use?
2. How many runs of LinX? (as opposed to how many hours)  What were all of your settings?  How much memory did you tell LinX to use?  Which version of LinX?  Was it LinX with AVX or no?

It's just Event Viewer.  His answer confused me, but I found it.  To open Event Viewer, just open the Start Menu, type event viewer, then press Enter.

 

In Event Viewer, expand these in this order:

 

1. Applications and Service Logs
2. Microsoft
3. Windows
4. Kernel-WHEA
5. Then click "Errors"

Well anyway, I built my rig on July 11th of 2011 and it has been running ever since (no formats, no re-installs).  I kept tweaking my settings until it passed over 14 hours in Prime95's Custom Blend test using about 95% of my memory.  I also left the computer alone the entire time with everything disabled that would do something automatically, such as Windows Update or a screensaver.

 

The result?  Well, according to this part of Event Viewer that we are all looking at here, my system has been perfectly stable since day 1.  How do I know?

 

I have zero (0) errors in there!

 

Does this mean that I can go home now?

 

 

To be honest, I would never ever ever ever ever ever ever feel comfortable relying on this as some sort of indicator of my system's stability.  I mean seriously, are you kidding?  Relying on this one little thing?  You have to be out of your mind!

 

Let me ask you something:  if it were this simple, then don't you think that we would have figured this out by now after all these YEARS (or almost "decades") of overclocking?

I am going to say this one time only even a brand new PC or Laptop will get WHEA errors even if they are not OC'ED.
