GTX 580 3GB or AMD 7950 3GB?

I am unsure which one to get for my soon to be NVIDIA Surround/Eyefinity setup, I plan on getting two of whichever card I buy. I found a ZOTAC GTX 580 3GB for the same price as this 7950 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127667. Which one should I get?

7950 will easily win against the 580. If you ask me though, I'd say go for a single 7970 instead of two cards. A single 7970 should handle Eyefinity (at 1080p) without too much of an issue.

It's a very good card. I like that one and the Sapphire Dual X about equally. The Dual X is a good bit more expensive, so definitely the Twin Frozr gets my vote.

Explains why there are so many 580's.

Will take the 7950 over a 580, 7950 is a bit better overall and it's newer tech. But if the 580 was way cheaper and you are on a budget , the the 580, but since both are the same price 7950 no questions asked tongue.gif:thumb:

get the HD 7950. The MSI card you are looking at runs at 880 Mhz and can easily do 1 Ghz at stock volts. HD 7950 CF at 1 Ghz is more than enough for eyefinity. should help you run most games maxed out. thumb.gif
