Good recommendations so far. Except if money isn't an object, the MDR XB700's are a low-end consideration anyway and I wouldn't consider them as my main set.
I had the distinct pleasure of listening to the Beyerdynamic DT990's in the 32ohm variety, and I must say they were a distinct pleasure. They are good at BASS but they don't make it muddy; more of a clean and crisp. I wouldn't recommend them if you don't like really pronounced treble, or if you listen to low-bitrate music (128 and below/online radio) or if you will be around noisy places, as they are partially-open. If you get to listen to those, you may enjoy them.
The ones on that website that I want are the AKG K701's. They look a little funny when you wear them because the two wires stick out above your head like a halo, but you soon forget about that when listening. The biggest soundstage of a headphone I've heard since my Sony MDR-F1's, but you can't find those anywhere
Grado's are horribly uncomfortable, they're notorious for that, and hardly portable due to their fragility. Those are for home high-end systems, and I personally think they're extremely over-rated. Good, but not worth it. And just because it hasn't been said, avoid the Dre Beats. Just don't bother.
Are we helping haha?
