You know why we call computer glitches "bugs"? It's because in the olden days of computing people needed to go and dust of bugs that where short circuiting the PCB's and causing glitches. It was a very common problem wink.gif

/end of history lesson

So yes keeping bugs out of your comp is a very good idea, just one more reason to use filters. About the graphics card. They are usually surprisingly resilient and as long as there is no physical damage done there is a chance they will still work just fine. I'm saying this because you said you "scraped" of the mosquito. To my ears this sound like a very bad idea as there is a good chance that the damage was caused by this scraping and not the short.

To anyone encountering a similar situation I recommend extreme caution in the bug removal. Use a soft brush or something similar to clean up the card.

I accidentally dropped a screw on my graphics card once when it was fully loaded.... It landed right on the solder points for the pwms and vrms and bounced off. Saw a couple sparks and all but it still ran fine.. Kept the game it was runninh running. Almost got a heart attack lol.

This is why I prefer GPU with backplate. =)

Both HD6970 and GTX680 are backplated.
