Here is a suggestion that I use to run your tower with the side cover off. Go to your local hardware/Lowes/Home Depot/whatever and buy some velcro tape and the largest AC filter for a window AC unit you can find. (Looks like a thin piece of sponge) Place the prickly side of the velcro around the edges of your case. Stick the filter to the velcro and trim off excess. if you have a really large case it may take more than 1 filter to cover it. You can place an additional strip of the velcro across the center of the case and use it blend 2 edges of filters together. Done. No dust, no bugs.biggrin.gif450
It ain't pretty but it works well

the ac filter suggestion is brilliant. i wonder what could be used for a laptop though... perhaps some pieces of a hepa vacuum bag?

UPDATE: cleaned the burned area with wd40. i installed the graphics card again and it worked! ran heaven for 2 minutes and it ok. run diablo again then after a couple of minutes BOOM, it crashed. no display again (it really hates diablo lol). tried it on my main rig but now it's 100% dead and doesn't boot anymore. gave me a little hope about this video card

do you think I should give baking a shot?

EDIT:

the solders that the mosquito was on was definitely affected. should I bake it or try "poking" it with a soldering iron?
