Lower FPS with Core 2 Duo - Page 2

Current Belief:

The application supports lower end SSE processing.

The application will still continue to split 128 bit SSE functions into two parallel 64 bit functions to be processed.

With Core 2 Duo the Micro-architecture is designed to process 128 bit SSE data.
To process this 64 bit data the decoder and processor itself have to work hard to recombine the data. Due to the design this has a mass impact in comparison to architecture's which are designed to do this. In Core 2 Duo this feature is almost emulated. Logic therefore states that a slowdown will occur

did you fix it?
i was thinking its got an fps limiter like vsync or something... but most games set that around 60-75fps depending on programming and monitor settings...

This is a new game. This is Age of Empires 3. In fact, this is the expansion (not even 1 month old).
