Quest about the benefits of more RAM

Hey guys, I have a very beginner question. Right now I have 6GB 1600Mhz Mushkins, but I am considering upgrading to Corsair Dominator 24GB Kit (Cas 9). What kind of benefits will I gain concerning games, photo editing, watching movies. I'm also upgrading to an eyfinity setup (3 24" monitors) with an SSD (The Plextor). I mostly play BF3 as well as use CS5 and Lightroom 3 for photo editing.

Games and movies wont get close to eating up 12GB, let alone 24.

A bit of searching on Google reveals that Lightroom benefits more from a strong cpu and fast hard drive than ram. On the other hand, more ram has shown to improve performance in CS5.

For reference I asked the same question in Google for each program and the first result provided relevant answers both times. Just an FYI in case you are on a time crunch in the future.

Gaming Benefits? Minimal, Photo Editing? Depends on how heavy/high resolution your images are, multi-tasking will also be benefited but In my honest opinion, 8GB is all you need. Eyefinity would depend heavily on your Graphic Card's VRAM
