[Yahoo] Best Buy Tries on Apple's Sleek Look - Page 5

the only reason this works for apple is because the prices of their newest products are almost never discounted, and if they are it is by a tiny margine. people shopping in best buy are not going to buy what they are selling at the store, like the article says. they will say "thanks for helping me decide which one i want" and they will order it on their phones from amazon while standing right in front of the employee.
in my case, there is a fry's right across the freeway from best buy... which usually has better prices.

In my case I have two around me down the road Microcenter MD and Microcenter VA where I work :-D

People who love music aren't always looking for bit-accuracy and super-crip reproduction. It's also the reason tube guitar amps are still extremely popular.
P.S. I don't "buy into audiophile mumbo jumbo", I just know what sounds natural after 20 years as a musician.

ON TOPIC:
BestBuy, a clearly misdirected pile of bumbling bureaucrats, is just trying to give Johnny Consumer what they think he wants -- Apple aesthetic, no matter the service or product in question.

My experience with bestt buy seller
Short long history.

Long time ago I went to they store and I was looking for an electronic hardware "don't remember which was" I was holding it in my hand trying to read the compatibility with my peace at home. One of the sellers just pop up from no where "can i help you?" me: sure and my wife gave me that look and I was like rolleyes.gif he was stand by my side and reading the label with me "I was like WTH" and he toke the box out of my hand opened the box looking for Manual. Do you know how many computers they have in they store just for they use? Believe, My wife got mad at me. Because she know that I was looking for and knowing the compatibility of the hardware. Life sux sometimes.

Next time i will use my PC when time get home.
Sent from my Windows Phone.
PS: I need Ctrl key on this thing wink.gif

I definitely understand what you mean. With extremely accurate headphones, with a broad soundstage I can hear sounds I've never heard before. However, when I listen to them its like some of the soul and imperfections of the original is lost. The sound, or lack thereof, isn't present with more less accurate audio equipment. The problem I have with quality equipment is that often times the higher frequency tones are too prominent.

vinyl+tube amps=rolled off highs. this is well known. if you've been listening to old equipment for a long time, it's understandable how that it would sound weird.

also, you have to take into account how recordings are made. modern recordings are often especially bad, oftentimes they are mastered poorly and have unnatural emphasis on certain parts of the spectrum. when you hear more detail and your equipment is more neutral, you hear those idiosyncrasies more

god im so glad i got off that sinking ship along time ago....sorry best buy, but your not ever going to be Apple no matter how much you try and look like them. I just feel bad for the employees that will suffer because of Best Buy...

If Best Buy would sell some actual hardware then I might miss having them around. Until then, I'll just return my extra 560 ti on the last possible day and then buy a new one on the way out biggrin.gif

This is actually one time I would cheer on Apple throwing lawyers around. Best Buy is a horrible company.

They won't though. Otherwise Microsoft Store would have been sued a thousand times over.

I am kinda happy seeing Best Buy tanking. I've never had one good experience going into Best Buy from the 20 times I've been there. Every Best Buy I go to the average age is 17 and they hang out at their post talking to their friends waiting to get off work to go get high.

Everything in Best Buy is at least 1-2 years outdated. They rarely carry new models of any electronics anymore. They have 2 year old model speakers they try to sell you. Super old receivers. They try to sell you laundry units, car speakers, video games. They are in too many markets.

They even have those retarded DirectTV people walking around the store stalking you. One of them got me to sign up and then when I gave my credit card info the guy on the phone told me that I agree to the two year contract. I was like NO. ANY ALL AND EVERY service that comes with a 'contract' is CRAP!

DirectTV also has a C- BBB.org

IMO this is akin to a very large person putting on size 1 clothing then saying that they're thin because of that.
