This isn't my first mouse, but it is the first one I bought instead of the one that came with the computer. Is there a equivalent of a better quality mouse like there is a keyboard membrane to mechanical keyboard?

Wait... If you build your own computer... How does a mouse come with it?
but yes, not all mices are created equal, and depending on your grip style, types of games you play, and hand size, the perfect mouse is HIGHLY subjective.
Now according to your title you seem to want suggestions. But from the content of your first post it doesn't seem like so. So let me get you started looking.
First tell us what games you play, what's your grip style (look at the stickies on this forum) and qre there any buttons you require?
Some preliminary suggestions: Razer deathadder, Logitech G400, also check out their sites and other brands like Mionix, Steelseries, Roccat and thermaltake (there are tons more) answer my questions and then we can tailor our suggestions. Oh, and once you get a good mouse, you'll need a good mousepad
.
P.s. sorry for any typos, typing this on the phone.

Take a look at the Logitech G400, it's quality built, looks sleek and Logitech is really good with their customers and with replacing anything that may go wrong down the road with their product.

I've seen good stuff about the G500. It's comfortable and has an adjustable weight system. It's sorta heavy, though, but for sniping during gaming that might be beneficial.

First tell us what games you play, what's your grip style (look at the stickies on this forum) and qre there any buttons you require?
Well I play Dota 2. Never used the mouse for maco because I only have a 2 button mouse =( I would like to move to a mouse that would help me macro better in dota.
But I'm still in college so I won't be gaming much. So a mouse that is good for browsing the web and occasional gaming would be nice.
Some of you brought up a good point I need a good gaming mouse too. I would also like to avoid big and bulky mouses.
Thanks in advance.
