Got the 3rd 27" Monitor - Page 2

The desk has been heavily modified from it's original form. It used to have a keyboard tray and a single monitor swivel arm that I removed long ago. The desktop i re-did with a new formica top (couldn't keep the original surface clean...) and the shelves off to the side I made myself. One is a riser for the PC itself which i have a removable (velcro'd) side panel to hide wires and the UPS. The other one is primarily there to hold the amplifier, dish receiver and ps3).

Good observation on the original post - I fully intended to add this to that same thread, but alas, I'm a forum idiot and I mangled it...

Oh, and I just (this last weekend) finished creating a shelf for the back of the desk so the speakers (a pair of Paradigm Titans) could lay on their sides instead of on the improvised speaker stands I had velcro'd to the desk legs. Looks much better. I'll have to add a picture when I get home. I have an Asus soundcard that has RCA outs that i run to the Onkyo amp.

Nice work on the customisation then. Impressed by the overall thing, so clean, organised and not giving off the cramped, claustrophobic feel of some set ups.

It was a lot of work to make something so simple and open not look like a big jumble of wires...

Haha, I know the feeling. I go for the same look and feel with everything I do. I have tried down the years trying to get a similar setup but with family it always turns into a room/desk of disks, devices, cables and crap. Everything gets moved and ruined. Would love your 3 monitors and desk right about now. Recently lost my only monitor and running on a backup.

Here's some pictures of the new shelf I built onto the back of the desk - sole purpose, to hold up the speakers horizontally, so they don't fire into the back of my monitors:

I love your desk. Kinda has an industrial look going with it.
