13" ultrabook to small?

Thread Starter
I am thinking of getting the Zenbook UX32VD from Asus, but I am wondering if a 13" is too small. I am going to use this for everyday web surfing, video editing, other adobe programs like photoshop, and for school. I like the UX32 because it's 1080p screen at 13" would have it meet the definition of apple's "retina" quality if that makes any sense. If the viewing distance is 22 inches then it would make the screen 108% retina quality, so I guess I would not be able to distinguish the pixels. I just cannot find any other 15" ultrabooks that have the power that the UX32 have.

So ya what do you think?

Not like it isn't hard to scale up browser text or your desktop if you do need it and all the space from the higher resolution is nice. The only thing is doing work with video editing and photoshop might get frustrating on such a small screen.

that depends entirely on how mobile it needs to be. if your lugging it back and forth between college classes all day then sure, but if to and from work is it then its probably too small IMHO.

When it comes to laptops, get the smallest you can with the power that you need. Of course that's assuming that you also have a desktop, or at the very least a monitor you can plug into at home.

If you, say, travel a lot for work and use your laptop while on the road, perhaps 15'' would be a better size. If you need to do serious work anywhere you are, 17''.

its really a direct ratio between the time spent transporting and the time spent staring at said screen.

If I where in the market for a ultra book, I would get something the size around 14/15 I don't think I could go smaller than that although I have used a Macbook Pro 13 for long period of time, and it was not that bad.

as far as im concerned 13" is the ideal size for a laptop if someone already has a decent desktop.
There isnt anything your laptop wont be able to do on a 13" screen that you cant put off to do on your desktop later.
