1000w is totally unneeded for what you will be building (unless I missed you 3-way SLIing 590s, adding 2 pumps, and some more stuff I can't even think of). And platinum ratings are overrated. Actually from what I've learned most of those ratings are useless. They don't save you that much money unless you run a folding system 24/7 and still then it isn't much. Find yourself a solid manufacturer and you will be fine with an 80plus rating.

As for ram, 1600mhz is fine for most people, but if you can afford to get better I don't see any reason not to. Just look for ram that is at least 1600mhz, CL9 or lower, and 1.5v or lower. I love my crucial ballistix sport 16gb (2 x 8gb), it is more then I could really use in most situations. Only when I have photoshop AND sony vegas open at the same time WHILE running our minecraft server is it useful.

Me personally i always go highend when it comes to buying psu's, i never buy anything lower then a gold rating, ive always stuck to silverstone but thats cause im a huge fan of there products and never had anything fail from them. Also go modular makes it easier to clean up your case and not have unused wires sitting in your case!
Brands i would stick with:
Enermax
Silverstone
SeaSonic
Antec
Corsair

Ram i never found a reason to buy high clocked ram i find its no faster, i had Corsair 2000mhz Dominator Gt and found it no faster then other rim sticks, so if your not going for benchmarks id stick to 1600mhz imo
Brands i personally like:
Samsung
G.Skill
Corsair

I highly recommend a ssd for your build, best investment that will speed up your computer the most!

Hope all this helped thumb.gif

I can agree with xRehab on not needing a 1000Watt unless you plan on running 3x 6970/6950s/580/570s or 2way sli/cfx 590s/6990s there is no need, only reason i have a 1000watt was because i had a power hungry overclocked hd6990 and was planning on getting a second one, but then switched to the gtx690.

The new 7000series amd cards, and 600series nvidea are very power efficient and you should be able to get away with a 750-800Watt (just to be on the safe side for future upgrades)

Agreed, SSDs can do an incredible job in making the system faster. And they are getting very cheap right now. Only brand I would also recommend is corsair for the PSUs, they use the same base models as the SeaSonics. Modular all day even if it costs $10-$15 more, you will be happy you did.

because they are pretty much the monopoly of the PSU world right now and we need to try and get the other guys some business so it doesn't become THE monopoly of PSUs

I think the msigtx680 lightning is the best one due to unlocked voltage without external software for overclocking
