[Build Log] Derezzer | Cosmos II | i7 3960X | 4-Way SLI EVGA GTX TITAN | Custom XSPC Water Loop - Page 5

Congrats on finishing your build - very nice system! thumb.gif

I noticed on the 3DM11 results you posted that your processor clock is listed as 0. Seemed odd - did you run 3DM11 when you had it OC'd to 4.0? I got a P14290 on my system at stock settings, so I thought you may have run it OC'd considering we have some similar gear.

Yes, I noticed the 3DMark 11 information appears a bit weird, hard to comprehend in some cases. That software obviously has a few bugs, no?

Besides the extremely slow CPU clock (0 Hz is really, really slow), the GPU and video memory clock rates look way low as well. Perhaps there's no bug and it's just me?

BTW, the 3DMark numbers were generated with a mildly overclocked CPU at 4GHz.

That explains it and yeah I know what you mean about 3DM being a bit buggy

Derezzed CrystalDiskMark

Just as anticipated, RAID0 essentially doubles throughput over a single Samsung 830 when it comes to the all-important sequential read/write test:

Also expected was the drop-off in throughput with the two RAID0 Western Digital disk arrays. Sequential performance is basically four times slower, but both disk arrays provide four times the capacity.

Life is a series of trade-offs...

I am finished messing with overclocking scenarios and have decided upon these modest and very stable clocks:

  • 3960X CPU: 4GHz
  • Dominator SDRAM: 1866MHz
  • 7970 GPU: 1050MHz
  • 7970 VRAM: 1500MHz

These clocks were used to gather all of the following metrics...

PassMark and CinBench numbers will follow...

Have you noticed any flex on your MB, cuz that D14 looks like it weights alot with those 3 fans attached. Sweet build.
