Thanks. It's going slower than expected due to work and other obligations, but there should be more material this weekend.

BTW, I lived/ worked in Regina for two years in the late 90's, and I still put gravy on my fries today!

I won't water-cool because:

1. The hardware is fast as-is, so I don't need to over-clock much, perhaps just a mild OC.
2. The NH-D14 is a very good heat-pipe and easily supports mild OC.
3. The XFX cards are already over-clocked and come equipped with good air-cooling technology.
4. My workload is not CPU-bound but is I/O bound, so maximizing RAM, SSDs, and RAID-0 arrays are much more important than liquid cooling my CPU or video cards.
5. Instead of spending money on water cooling, I would rather focus those funds on improving I/O performance, and did so.
6. I would probably damage (leaks) costly hardware if I attempted to water-cool.
7. Water-cooling requires higher ongoing maintenance, and I don't like that because I am a bit lazy.

My reasoning will probably offend many who are obsessed with liquid cooling, so I will beg their forgiveness right now, ahead of the assured onslaught....

Derezzer Strip-Down

The Cosmos II stock fan hardware has been removed, except for the 200mm front intake. The mid-case drive rack has also been removed to help improve intake flow. Critical storage devices will be mounted in the bottom zone rack, isolated and cooled with three Enermax TBSilence 120mm fans. There will be a total of eight Enermax case fans installed. The rear case and Noctua NH-D14 heat-pipe fans are 120 and 140mm BeQuiet! PWM Shadow Wings hardware.
