It shouldn't bottleneck a single 7950.

deppends on resolution and It`ll be bottleneck anyway that CPU is onyl 10 or 15% faster than a i3 540

Few games like GTA IV run better on core i5 (true quad core) because it uses 4 threads. But majority of games run very well on core i3. so you don't need to bother about being CPU bottlenecked with core i3.

Not really, it runs just as well on a 2100 as a 2500 http://www.behardware.com/articles/816-10/intel-core-i3-2100-lga-1155-sandy-bridge-dual-core.html

what do you mean ? close to a 5 fps diff in GTA IV between core i3 2100 and core i5 2400 both running at 3.1 Ghz when the frame rate is less than 40 fps is significant. The % improvement is 13%. I don't know what you mean by telling core i3 runs just as well. Thats not small by any means. in fact the older core i5 750 quad core running at 2.66 Ghz is faster than core i3 2100 running at 3.1 Ghz. You don't need any better proof that quad cores matter in GTA IV.

I had the i3-2100 and a 560. They seemed to be a good match, however, if your playing anything like bf3, you'll bottleneck both. I'd say you'd have to get around an OC'ed 560ti or 570 to bottleneck a i3-2100. 580 would definitely bottleneck the CPU. Hope that helps.

Best part about the 2100 is the temps. Saw a max of 42C...haha
