HDD Formats/Formatting

Thread Starter
I have an IDE HDD with an ext3 partition, a Linux Swap partition and another ext3 partition. In windows, i'm trying to create another partition for storage and a link between windows and Linux in the FAT32 format, but it does not offer that option in Disk Management. I set it as an extended partition and am trying to put a logical partition of 50,000MB (50GB) on it, but it only offers NTFS. Does anyone know if i'm violating a HDD rule like the # of partitions, something FAT32 can't work with my setup or anything like that? Thanks.

use a partition program from within linux...much easier.

I know there's a 4 partition limit in Linux, but i do not know of what kinds of partitions (since you got your primaries, extended and logicals). I don't know how many of what you can mix or match, but i have 3 right now so i'm wondering if that's what's stopping me.
