Guys please help GT430 fan failure

hello, i'm using a palit gt430 2gb edition. i bought it 1 week ago. i was playing assasins creed brotherhood and i noticed a drastical framerate drop. i closed the game and checked the temperature, it was effin 98c... i opened the case lightning speed and the fan was shaking and the sticker on the fan almost burned, it was dropped from fan too. i started it with my hand and it started but it was very very slow. with VTune i changed the fan speed to 100% and it stopped again. i changed it to 35% and it started to cool again but it still spins at very low speed and it can easily stopped by finger. also the center of fan is hotter than the heatsink. BTW you cant even see dust. a quick help would really good.

Buy an 80mm fan at a local shop and ziptie it over the heatsink like this. Problem solved. Or you can return it or RMA it as defective. The fan shouldn't die after one week.

lol, I did that with my old 9500gt, the fan died so i zip tied a 80mm or 90mm(cant remember) to it and it worked great after that.

And as said you could just rma it, they do owe you a working card.

Both my in-laws have that card in there pc's, If you paid reg price you can probably return it an get a used 540-460 for almost the same price, if you got it used just get a $6-$10 dollar fan for it.

I know this thread is old but I wanted to thank @Machiyariko. I have an old, dead PC laying around so grabbing a fan will be free. Who cares if the inside of your computer looks ghetto???? As long as it operates 5-star!

I actually did manage to get my fan loosened up by punching a hole in the top and dripping some mineral oil down it, guided by a safety pin. It was too late though. Seems it burned out from trying to spin for so long unlubricated. (Why did PNY send me a dry fan???) It's also refurbished so no RMA.

I'm not a gamer so I don't need a better video card. No other card is going to make my videos look better, and that's the most demanding thing I do. I did buy a large case, though, so this fix is the perfect solution.

Thanks!
