The VCore is only 1.28 as it is, the heatsink & fan should be more than enough you have an owners club here with people running way higher than mine.

http://www.overclock.net/t/804209/the-coolermaster-hyper-tx3-owners-club/190

Alot use 2 fans which i will try myself when the new one arrives.

Just refitted the cooler facing forwards so now it pulls in fresh pushes it out towards the exhaust.

However just ran prime95 again, still hitting 59/60c frown.gif

I find it hard to belive the stock cooler could perform better than this cooler, i honestly dunno *** is wrong.

The stock cooler is even worse,I wouldn't recommend trying it. Perhaps try re-seating the cooler with just a pea sized blob on the CPU?
Or,at least get a 212 EVO until you can get an H80.

That is basically identical to what i have except 1 extra heatpipe

Yeah ive reseated it twice now, both times i added a 5mm sized blob spread out with a credit card of Noctua NT-H1

Apparently this stuff has little to no curing needed so i dont think its that frown.gif

Unless i really suck at applying TIM or something hehe

The TX-3 really is not going to do well with an FX-8150.

So your hitting 59-60c on Prime? Sounds right for that cooler. FX runs hot if not under something hefty. Seems normal to me

Ok so would the stock cooler do better? I mean i cant even 100% the CPU without risking the 61c death zone?

Because the FX-8150"s are a hot running CPU,the 8150 is an 8 core, you need something bigger if you don't want temp spikes or the chip hitting the rated maximum temps.

The same thing would happen with the stock cooler, the stock cooler isn't made for running the CPU at 100% A 212 EVO may only have 1 more heatpipe, but the cooler itself is much larger and uses 120mm fans. EDIT- not that i'm saying that you have to get a 212 EVO,there are many good performing price/performance heatsinks out there,a few of them are cheaper than a H100 and outperform it.

Ahh that one requires backplate removal.....ive not checked my board to see if thats possible (Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3), i know some cannot be removed.

To be honest im looking at just buying a Corsair H100 and not eating for the rest of the month wink.gif but i see that also requires it, i will have to check my board.

Thank you all for your advice, i appreciate it, even if it was a little disappointing (damn cooler)

Actually heres a question for you:

AMD FX 8150
1x Nvidia 2.5gb GTX 570
2x Solid State HDD
2x Sata 3 HDD
1x DVDRW
2x 200mm (1xLED), 1x 120mm Case Fans
Plus the H100

I have an OCZ 600w PSU, is this enough?
