with all you done you have your awnser that is the best your going to get with your board. I had a Corshair 3 board and my Phenom II X6 1090T the best I could get withat board was 4.0Ghz. When I got the Sabertooth board the same cpu would get up to 4.4Ghz

I just dont see where the problem is, cos nothing seems to be overheating, and why is this setup now stable when it wasnt 2 days ago?

Ok well i may have some spare cash in a few days so can you recommend me a good board from http://www.scan.co.uk

Preferably a cheapish one wink.gif

Also is the VRM this bit:

yes it is the VRM's thier are boards out thier that will over clock it just depends on how much you want that old adject is true you get what you pay for for the most part for me I perfer Asus becase I can set what I want like on my Vcore I put in the value and the same with the clock refrance just using it I can change ram so Im not left with a list like 2000 or 1866 or 1600 I can run 2157Mhz also for the most part the more phases a board has the beter it will handle OCing

Well i just tried upping cpu multiplier to 4ghz and vcore to 1.33

Crashed after 1.5min of prime frown.gif

So yeah i dunno what is up with this board but it doesn't seem to like this CPU at all, i just wish i could prove properly what the issue was, i really dont fancy wasting money on something that wont resolve it.

EDIT: Well i just ran 3.750ghz changing only the multiplier leaving the vcore auto @ 1.284 and that was ok in Prime for 5 mins anyway, always crashes well before that ususally.

Without VRM cooling,the VRM's & mosfets can overheat,and possibly cause issues,especially with a power hungry 8150.
If you can find something like these Enzotech C1 mosfet heatsinks, you may not have to buy a new motherboard.

Honestly the PC has been under heavy use since and i have had no issues.

30c room temp 100% cpu and i still dont pass 34c, i have had no crashes no glitches and have played a multitude of bot CPU heavy and GPU heavy games.

I cannot explain it but aside from the fact i cant seem to overclock it, at normal settings the pc works flawlessly.

So i decided i will leave it alone
