it says the cooler is better than the stock cooler: cooler, quieter, and faster

I bet it is because it seems the fans are pointed to intake air which is good if you have a side intake fan...And with those small fans you won't get too much noise out of those things.

Don't know why it's causing so much commotion. This ain't new.

Card is a beast. The only real concerns about this card and the GTX 690 version are noise and how quiet/loud it actually will be, voltage GTX 680 and I guess the PCB/weight of the card. Their windforce is a pretty great cooler somid expect this to be too.

It's a great design overall, especially for SLI/crossfire. All cards will get the same amount of cooling, it looks great and was claimed to be the highest OC GTX 680 at nexus. So it looks super promising for both models. I however don't care since I'm only looking for watercooled cards and would rather a fat girlfriend than another AMD card.

No... seems like more than a few of you have the wrong idea as to how server fans actually behave; there are low-speed server fans just like there are low-speed "common" fans (like Noiseblockers, Yates, etc.). Server fans are just fans preferred by the people that build servers, and usually include fans from the brands Sanyo Denki, Panaflo, Nidec Servo, Delta, Sunon, and EBM.papst. Those companies all make well-performing fans with good noise profiles that last many years and are built very well. I'll recommend those companies when I can over most others for those reasons.

The standard windforce design with 3 normal fans must be almost as good and with less noise.. omg gigabyte Why?!

If you're going to hate it, it might aswell be for a good reason. My reason? It's on an AMD card, so it must be stupid.

Yeah thats a great reason.... Yeah, must be stupid

The fans are made to exhaust, not intake. To pull air from the motherboard not to push towards it. Just to clarify...

I love how people here assume that gigabyte engineers are idiots. I'm 100% sure this will perform better than windforce3, or they would not bring it to market, period.

Did people complain this much about the 680 5x windforce that was revealed before this card? Or is this yet another way for nvidia fanbois to take jabs at anything AMD? Give it a rest and wait on benchmark results. Gigabyte engineers aren't morons, and I dont think anyone here in this thread complaining has an EE degree which makes 100% of the people in this thread no authority to speak on such things. Gotta love internet experts.
