Is the asus m5a99x evo motehrboard suppose to do this?

Like it takes 2 posts to actually boot up, which defeats one of the EFI bios feature of booting up more quickly than the more ancient bios.

I tried playing around with all settings but frown.gif

I believe that one of the causes is having "JMB Storage Controller" enabled inside of the Advanced\ Onboard Devices Configuration > part of the UEFI BIOS.  I also recommend disabling everything else in this area of the UEFI BIOS that you're not using.  For me, everything would be disabled except for "Realtek LAN Controller".  I would even have "Realtek PXE OPROM" disabled too because it's not needed.

I would also say to disable "Full Screen Logo" in the Boot menu because this may help as well.  Possibly, setting "Option ROM Messages" to "Keep Current" might help a little bit too.

Before disabling "JMB Storage Controller", make sure nothing is connected to the black SATA ports.  If there's something connected to them, then they have to be moved to the white ports.  The white ports are superior anyway.  ;)

Oh wait, are you saying that it boots much faster now?  smile.gif

I admit that I had a little lack in confidence that this was going to do it.

Wow.  A part of my fear was from how it's been exactly 1 year since I "fixed" this with my board.  Whew.  hehe

That's me, though:  everything has to be perfect, otherwise I won't sleep until it is.  I envy those who just say "lol I don't care; as long as it works, I am 100% satisfied!"

I'd be stumped!  All I can recommend is to make a thread for this.  redface.gif

Alright, but I'll keep playing around in the bios first before asking. I think its because of my overclock though.
