what PSU do i need for this system ?

hey ,

well i just assembled my first rig now and all i need is a power supply big enough to power it ..

so i'm here asking for your opinions please , here are the parts i got already

CPU : i7-3770K (planning to overclock a little) + cooler : Cooler Master V6GT

MOBO : ASUS ROG Maximus IV Extreme-Z

RAM : 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair 1600mhz C8

GPU : ASUS GTX 670 DC2 Top Edition

HDD : 2TB Seagate 6GB/s

SDD : intel 520 ssd 120GB x2

fans : 200mm x 2 , 120mm x 1

1 nzxt sleeved LED kit , 1 Cold Cathode

so , how much power do you think this tiny beast would need ? and any recommendations of good psu's ?

i was thinking aerocool Strike X 600w OR Corsair GS700w

did i guess right ?

thank you in advance rolleyes.gif

A good quality 500w PSU is more than fine for that system.

Do you planned on SLIing that GTX670? The setup you had posted alone could be powered on a quality 400w.

What's your budget and where are you going to be buying from?

$59 at newegg and $10 off coupon. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028

If you are going to be buying another card and running sli then I would suggest this instead. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139012

All you would need for this system is a 550W PSU but for future expansion you could get a 750W PSU. This way you would have all the power you would need for additional hardware or even an SLI setup.

Of the two PSU's you listed the Corsair unit would be my choice because of the warranty. I was not able to easily find any information about Aerocool warranty. Corsair has a 3 year warranty. The Aerocool unit looks awsome and seems to be a reliable unit but without the warranty and customer support to back it up I would not trust it.

With all of that said you really should be looking for a modular PSU because it will help to keep your computer case tidy.

From that site id go for either the tx650 or 750. Both psu's are great quality and will allow for expansion in the future. The 750 will better support two high end video cards in sli though. The 650 would do better with mid/high end cards.
