New cooler for a tight budget. Need recommandations.

Hello there,

My name is Florin and i decided to buy a new cooler for my CPU, a quad core from AMD: FX-4100 3.6 GHz. Searching in vane for the past 2 days i decided to post here hoping for a stop in my insane search for a cooler.

Seeing as my stock cooler is kinda failing on this dreadful summer in Romania with temperatures as high as 35*C in the shade and not having AC in my house is a big deal.

Processor temperatures:

Idle: 26-28*C. Playing World of Warcraft for a few hours gets my temperatures up to 58-60*C, which i think are too damn high for a processor with stock frequencies... maybe the dust and the non-management of cables bring it so high... resulting, i guess, in a useless front case fan sucking air.

Anyway, my budget is 40$ so i need your wast knowledge for a good cooler.

Few questions first. If i get a cooler with the side fan will it hurt that there will be less to nothing air been blown on the transistors and all the electrical mambo jambo around the processor ? Or all those goodies were never getting any air from the CPU cooler...

My case is a Raidmax Tornado Black... mother of fails... i regret buying it...

Ok, i'm going for Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

I got a standard 90mm cooler on the back side of the case that pulls the air out. I want to know if i should replace it or buy another cooler for the heatsink to create the push-pull thingy. Suggestions ?
Push-pull can help, especially when things get really hot, but if you are on a budget i would say it probably isn't worth it with that cooler.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I will go with the Hyper 212 EVO. Also decided to buy an additional cooler for push-pull.

My last two questions are: Would my 4-pin CPU Fan connector support two fans ? And last one, would my VRMs have to suffer not having a cooler blowing towards the motherboard at stock frequencies ?
your mobo should be able to support both fans in a splitter on it, and your vrms shouldn't suffer too much assuming you have any sort of decent air flow in your case
