What do you think of my water cooling build so far?

Thread Starter
I've decided I wanted to water cool my machine because:
1. it cools it down a lot
2. it looks so sexy smile.gif

So, here is what I'm thinking. Feel free to comment on what you think I need to take out or add.
I have the Cooler Master HAF 922... so it's not super big, but it is pretty large.
I'm thinking:

-Radiator: MCR220-QP Extreme Duty Dual 120mm
-Pump: Swiftech MCP655-B 12v
-Water Block: Danger Den MC-TDX
-Reservoir: Swiftech MCRES Micro Rev. 2 Small Form Factor

That's so far. I need some help finding some cheap, but good compression fittings...
Just tell me your opinions on my build so far smile.gif .

Thanks wink.gif .

Good and cheap compressions, there's only one I can think of, XSPC. They're around 4 bucks ea.

If I were starting my loop from scratch, I would still go with the XSPC. They are better than all the others at the actual job of holding onto a tube due to the shape of the nozzle. Other kinds are bitspower, enzotech which I've used, koolance, swiftech and a bunch of others,

i think your loop looks pretty good. if it were mine, however, i would replace that waterblock with an XSPC Raystorm. But if you're trying to stick to swiftech only, then its not a bad choice!

I agree with tsm106, the XSPC compression fittings are perfect. there is no reason whatsoever IMO to buy the bitspower compressions for $10+ each. the XSPC ones will work really well for you my friend thumb.gif

Compression Fittings for PC Watercooling System

Hose Barb Fittings for PC Watercooling System

if you dont have the money for compression fitting i do recomend this

Bitspower G 1/4 Matte Black 1/2in. ID Barb - BP-MBWP-C01 with
Durelene PVC tubing 7/16in. ID 5/8in. OD by Saint-Gobain the ID of this tubing is 1/16 smaller than the ID of the tubing and you won't need barb's or clamps. But if you are no comfortable without barb's or clamps you can use cable tie and if you do a nice work with it does looks good not just tie it and done, take you time and do right and by the way this is your first WC system so go easy and don't spend too much because after you first system you never going back to Air colling and you always going to find some new parts and going to upgrade in one way or another trust me i know what I'm talk about. thumb.gif and if you need any more input just drop a msg we be here for you.

by the way here is one of my WC system same case as yours

raystorm has lower flow restriction so in my opinion will be a better performer..
in all fairness i dont know much about the DD blocks, but I do know a lot about the raystorm and how it generally performs better than most when tested against other blocks. Search for some raystorm reviews (maybe Martins Liquid Lab, or SKinnee Labs)

Restriction only really matters in multi-block loops. With only a 2x120 radiator I presume the OP is just cooling the CPU. Any decent wc'ing pump will be able to keep flow rates up in CPU-only.

The DD block is pretty average. Check out Martin's comparison review: http://martinsliquidlab.org/2008/11/03/q6600-cpu-block-shootout/
For cheap compressions aquatuning has some of their own generic branded ones I've used and found to be quite good.
