WOW!? Really 3 pages? I could have had this machine boot in seconds. The first thing i'll let you in on, is most boards these days(especially after market) have labels for each Front panel connector. You will see little "+" next to some pins, this designates Positive charge, the other pins are negative and in our case ground. so when you turn on your machine your shorting a positive to a ground for lack of better words.
What does this all mean? It means take Phillips screw driver and touch all the pins till it turns on, they are all mean to connect to ground any ways. Once you get the right two pins you will be able to know from then which two are the power switch pins.

You realise its done now, plus i haven't had to short a mobo before so i didn't know if, by getting the wrong ones, it could break it...
Also, "most boards these days" this set-up is like 10 years old or something, the front panel connector was just a block to plug in, not like the newer ones with separate labelled pins.
This is only a single page as of now too, and if you hadn't realised, its not all about the shorting, there's 10 posts that are unrelated.

Same concept even if it is ten years old, i'm not saying mash the pins lightly touch a screw driver to them. I highly doubt it fry any thing as odd and strange and unheard of cooky as it may sound, no thats not mockery. Even if there are special pins, at most there is a usb hearer in there, it isn't going to do any thing and if it some how did, shut off the power via PSU wait a few minutes and try again, they do have safeties built in, even ten years ago. Pentium 4 Dell's are nothing new to me i could even tell you which chassis style style that came from and notorious they are for causing bloody knuckles. Also it never hurts ti know the science/logic behind something, you can always learn something new.

Okay then, it's not mockery, it's you being a bit full of yourself. how was I to know it wouldn't do anything, hence this thread.
Yeah I know its always good to learn new things, as I have from this, and I appreciate your help on the matter, but I don't appreciate people stating they can do things "in seconds" when all I wanted was some simple advice.

Haha, is there anything these chips are actually good for now? I've seen people using them for folding and such, I'd probabally do the same if I paid the electric bill haha.
