Samsung 46ES7000 or 46D7000?

Hi guys,

i'm looking for a new HDTV, now i have a Samsung LE40A656 that still is a good TV, but it has 240watt of electricity consumption and it stays turned on for very long periods.
It would be better if the new tv will be a Samsung because i will use it with the home theater Samsung HT-E6750W (already bought), and i would like to control all with Samsung Anynet+ and only one remote control biggrin.gif .
Also, the new TV can't be high more than 73-74cm (the one i have now is 69.9cm) and must have a small stand, i mean, not a wide stand like the Samsung ES8000 series, or like the new Sony HX855.

Max price around 1.600€

For now, I've found two TV that meet the requirements:

- Samsung 46ES7000
- Samsung 46D7000

They are very similar, if i'm not wrong the ES is a 2012's model, instead, the D7000, is a 2011 model .
The ES7000 is priced about 300€ higher than the D7000, and from tech spec. it seems that the only differences are the built in webcam-microphone of the ES7000, is that right?

There are other good HDTV that i can look for?
thank you in advance smile.gif

only difference other then what you have stated with the built in mic/webcam - which also features voice/motion control is additional subsections that the local dimming will be split up into and able to control, giving SLIGHTLY better colors - that and the bezel.

I sell these in the US, Samsung as a brand is in a very good choice right now and I'm a huge fan of their products.

there is nothing wrong with the D7000 as a TV, do consider the savings.

Also, the es7000 has a chip in the back that can be replace in the future giving you any new features that Samsung adds on (they arn't free)

Both are fairly similar but as the ES7000 is the new 2012 model it has the very latest "Smart" features, and as Tulion says, it has a port at the back which allows you to upgrade the features. Pretty much making it future proof.

The smart features are pretty cool, you can read about them and the performance in this review http://www.hdtv-news.com/samsung/es7000-review/

I have the Samsung 46ES7000 and it is the BEST TV I have ever seen in my life.

Of course when LG releases their 55" OLED TV's things will change. But until then, Samsung 46ES7000 can not be beaten in terms of color quality.
