Just saw this on Ebay and price is lower compared to other monitors with this size and resolution.

It has a high adjustable stand!

Received the monitor earlier, seems good so far other than two rather large issue.
There do appear to be some issues regarding pixels, maybe, they seem to show up on the attached photos. I honestly cannot see them when taking the photos, but they do appear to be there on the black background. The other backgrounds seem OK mind, but I will leave you guys to judge that. Obviously this is very difficult to tell using photographs, but as far as the panel is concerned I am very happy, the bottle of water is a 2 litre bottle, to give you a better idea.

The above is the packaging the monitor came in, no complaints there, well packaged and no damage whatsoever (at least I do not think so, more on this later).
Now onto some 'dead pixel test' I found via a quick Google, blue;
450
Green;
450
Red;
450
White;
450
Black, note a couple of dots and a few smudges of mine;
450
I do not consider the potential pixel problems above, as having played a bit of Crysis 2, tried a couple of films and used it for general use for a couple of hours, I can see no problem with them at all, I think you would have to look for them to find them if that makes sense. Having said that, if knowing they are there annoys you and you look out for them, I can see how that might be an issue.
Now onto the two 'big' issues...
Big issue number one was being hit big by customs/VAT for a combined 30%, which I do not really want to go into. Needless to say I was far from happy, but then that was my own stupid fault for not checking before hand. That is the UK for you. Having done some reading up, I found on another forum that you can pre-arrange something with customs to pay less - as long as you get the guy to write down a customs ID number (not sure on proper name for this number) on outside of package. Needless to say this was all too late for me... Having said that, as most of you are not from the UK I doubt you really care.
For an idea of size;
450
The black box is my work desktop at 1080p, previously that was full screen on my 24" 1080p Iiyama monitor. So the extra space you get is quite considerable.
My next big gripe with the monitor;
450
The panel is tilted to the left, I believe this to be an issue with the stand. I haven't tried fixing it at all, I do plan on removing it from the stand and re-aligning it somehow over the weekend (I am currently working from home and cannot spend too much time on it). But at the moment, as you can see, it does actually look pretty awful and I noticed it straight out of the box. I do wonder if this is to do with it getting bashed during delivery maybe, but then as mentioned above the box looked fine.
It is early days, but assuming I can sort out the tilting issue somehow I would say I am happy with it. I am very please with the panel itself, I see no issue there whatsoever, but the tilting could be a real issue if I cannot find a fix. I would be most unhappy if I have to fork out more cash for another stand, but will be contacting the seller later today with the above image.
Any questions or tests you want me to perform please fire away, I will look to do more tonight but now I have to go back to working, which is far more enjoyable on this monitor it has to be said.

Don't mind the set up, this is the table we built my brother's computer on recently. I'm slightly homeless atm but I'm rebuilding my rig with insurance money and this monitor was the first purchase to replace an eyefinity set up. I highly recommend going for these super resolutions over multi-monitor, but I digress... HUGE IMAGES (Click to show)

All in all I'm very happy with it, a quick list of pros and cons.
Pros :
- Tons of real estate, personally I love the height of 16:10
- Accurate color, duh it's an IPS
- No noticeable ghosting or input lag
- Very classy metal finish
- Solid tilt, swivel, height-adjustable stand
- AG coating kills glare and reflections
- Much cheaper than 30" competitors
- No dead pixels or dust
Cons:
- AG Coating blurs some dark blacks together
- Overall black levels (dungeons with realistic lighting mod) average or below average
- Darker scenes suffer from poor viewing angles
- Slight buzzing on backlight, not a problem for headphone users or gamers
- Dang heavy
Feel free to ask any questions. Overall this thing would be pretty much perfect if it came in glossy. I would recommend this thing to most gamers or photo editors. The exception being if you play games like Skyrim and have blackout lighting mods or horror style games where you spend a lot of time in the dark. Even then I didn't find navigating dark dungeons any more than a minor annoyance. For your majority of games (I plan on using it primarily for Guild Wars 2) it will not be an issue.

i prefer my q270 for gaming, more 16:9 resolution avaible after 1080p than with 16:10, less input lag, and 1920x1200 on 30 is blurry..., 2560x1600 is better but look worst than 2560x1440p on q270,
other things Scaler is odd , i have more input lag at 2560x1600 than with 1920x1200.
and it's not a question of framerate, it appear either on windows desktop.
the screen made an annoying buzz with brightness on maximum or minimum.
end of story

Not bad price, except when I saw this listing start, it was $600. Then a couple of days later, it rose to $698. Then another couple days later, again at $600. Now it is at the current price of $698. What I am waiting for is the price to drop down to $600 to get this monitor.

Get the price to $ 495.oo shipped & I will buy two tomarrow.

The Shimian sucks (same panel), unless you use the display @ maximum brightness the contrast/blacks are absolutely terrible (the contrast is already poor @maximum brightness), and even though it has a scaler and extra inputs, it stretches 16:9 content. It also uses a very grainy anti-glare coating and 1 frame of input lag.

Save yourself 200-400$ and get one of the 27" models since they have better image quality.

700$ is to much of a risk for me not having a warranty... The cat leaps 250-315$ is worth the risk.

Don't these panels usually come with 1yr warranty? (Same as apple, really). Whether they'll honor it or not, though.

Didn't bother to check the page though, so maybe not for this one.

Ooooo. Thanks for the review link, probably saved me from wasting some money on these.

They're also CCFL backlit I believe, which means higher power consumption, lower brightness and much longer bulb warm up time than LED. Not only that, but they're also lower DPI than the 27" displays.
