The Zevroid is still good. The only issue I have is the wavy lines that appear when I turn the brightness down.
The eBay seller got in touch with the manufacturer. Their response is:
the expected reasons are typical power-supply noise,and loosing contact of main power-cord or interference from other power-cable. Solutions (they proposed below. please try these.)1. Please try using ground receptacle when you plug a main power-supply which is inputted adapter of monitor.2. Please make sure that 24V Input cable and Dual DVI-D cable which are back side of monitor do not be twisted.3. Please make sure that 24V Input cable and Dual DVI-D cable which are back side of monitor do not be twisted with power cord from other electric products.
I don't really expect this to fix the problem but I will give it a try when I get the chance but that won't be until after Christmas.
Comparing the picture (not side by side) to the Dell 30" U3011 I have at work I would say it is basically the same after messing around with the settings. Same matte coating.
