I'm starting to think that maybe the TX10-V would be a better option. I'm not a fan of the PSU in the top or bottom chambers and I can't imagine how they will implement the cable management so that only leaves the fact that it would be horizontal as an advantage.
Maybe I’m not seeing the big picture or I just want a case so bad that it's blinding me, but I’m starting to think that maybe just maybe the TX10-V would be a better option for a single system rather than waiting for the TX10-H.
Plus I could be the first build log for a TX10-V and I’m sure that not to many have this case, as it is just a bit much for a single system
What do you all think? Wait for the TX10-H? or go with the TX10-V?
How long can you wait? I'm sure Jim will create something awesome and figure out the cable routing, but he said in the Merlin thread that they will not be doing any custom work until november because of Merlin, so I wouldn't expect him to start looking at designing the TX10-H until then, so you're looking at jan-feb at the earliest? Possibly later if we're going to be realistic.
I would have thought the TX10-H would become effectively 5 chambers each of which is like the top/bottom chamber in the tx10-v/d. Each chamber could have a different backplate that could be:
- plain
- 4x1U slots
- motherboard tray
- 4xPSU
Each one could be ventilated panels with side mounted radiators or plain panels or windowed panels. This means you effectively have a 20u rack chassis that you can customize in a myriad of ways.
That's at least what I would be working towards, but I'm not sure what Jim will do. Whatever it is I'm sure it will be droolworthy!
