Same but I just wanted to go with something with great reputation and good build quality. Would love to have a back light but most of those I can't take serious.
I want a full size keypad, I don't see the logic of saving $10 and not have a keypad, I can get an additional one but between not being mechanical and the minimal savings between shipping and taxes. I like having a keypad, I use it a lot in passwords and in some of them I have a pattern.

Razer steath is one of the better ones atm, back lit and full mechanical, has macros.
CM storm full size one with red switches has questionable style.
Corsair one is really nice but has some rubber dome keys, I am going to go all in.

I want red switches and most of the so called gaming keyboards either cut corners to save, cheesy styling, questionable reliability.

Blue user here, I've tried Black and Brown, I prefer the brown for gaming due to easier double tapping, for typing I like the blues, but over all Id go with brown.

I agree, reds just really aren't that great for gaming since you have to always bottom out to know you've activated the key. They would be great for FPS's but macro heavy games like SC2 and MMO's browns seem the better choice since you know when the switch has been activated and you don't constantly bottom out (which can end up paining your fingers as well).

I am unsure if you are actually affiliated with MLG or not but many individuals who are sponsored by Steelseries use 6Gv2 Red Switches and are able to still perform at a high APM.

6GV2 uses black switches, as far as I know.

There are no correlation between the switches that one is using and his performances. It just does not make any sense. It all comes down to preferences.

Steelseries released a 6Gv2 Red Switch variant. Players on sponsored/partners teams have been trying out the red switch variant of 6Gv2 for some quite time.

absolutely no difference in prices, just the switch.

If you can live with the large enter button and so-so keycaps (to be expected at this price point, mind you), the 6gv2 is an excellent choice. Normally I would recommend the rosewill boards at this price point, but I dont know if they have dealt with the issues that they have with their connector.

Yeah I wish Steelseries just left the keys as they were (rectangular enter, | being above the enter) but it is a pretty good choice. I'm actually trying out a DAS Keyboard with blue switches, typing on this compared to the 6Gv2 (Black Switches though, unsure about red as I never tried so I won't judge) is night and day. Typing on DAS Blue is amazing. As far as gaming I haven't been gaming that much yet, midterms frown.gif but we'll see.

As far as I enjoy typing on blues, I must say that reds are my personal favourites when it comes to general use. thumb.gif

It really all comes down to preferences, people need to stop with the ''blues suck for gaming'' mentality.

Agreed with saying one switch is better than another. Some people like browns better, some people like reds better; it just depends on the person.
