used gtx 680 vs new gtx 670

Hey guys

I'm building a new rig atm and I was wondering which was a better deal

I can get a used 680 for $370 from a local
It's been used for about 2 months he says.
The thing bothering me is that he did not register the card on evga during
The first 30 days he bought the card so I'm not really sure if I can get warranty
From EVGA after I buy the card.

Or I can get a brand new 670 for $399 from newegg or Amazon

What's the bettwr deal guys? Help me out here

You can still get warranty on that EVGA card, and its better if its registered under your name [since they haven't registered it under their name] - i believe its only 1 year of warranty instead of 3 years or something similar to that - I would def go with the 680 though as any problems are likely to crop up in that first year and if you change hardware like any of the rest of us it won't be around for too much longer than 1 year in your system anyway thumb.gif

Get the 680. It is a great price. Warranty should still be fine even without registration for the new series of cards. You should have 3 years.

I guess I missed the OPs question about car racing....

To me it would end up being about whether or not I could trust the guy selling me the used card, and if the warranty still registered. From a few benchmarks listed here, there isnt much difference. I'd prefer a new card with a reciept at any point possible, especially if I did not know or trust the person selling me the card.

It is in pretty good condition but the box was kinda banged up.
He also gave me all the accessories except the "EVGA accessories pack"
Do you guys know what that is?
