I've been playing BFBC2 for a while and still play it on a regular basis but servers are becoming a bit worse and not as much variety. Is it worth spending the $50 to get the new game or is it pretty much the same thing as BFBC2?

It's nothing like BC2. I actually enjoy BF3 better and I put in over 250 hours into BC2. With that said BF3 has a decent sized learning curve compared to BC2. It took me a little bit to get used to the new mechanics but now that I have, it's amazing. Miles ahead of BC2. I would highly recommend making the switch.

It depends, if you have friends that play it then yes, its very worth buying. Team work is key in BF3 playing with friends in tanks and helicopters is way more fun than playing alone. I voted yes because its a great game and I do not regret buying it.

Yea currently I'm sitting at 318 hours logged on BC2. I have seen a few videos on you tube and it seams a bit like MW games for some reason. I'm just hoping I don't pay $50, deal with Origin, and then end up going back to BC2

Not really. I always play alone on BC2 as well. Are there still squads in BF3?

I was a huge fan of BC2 myself, BF3 is tons of fun.

I would agree on the learning curve aspect of BF3 as well. Once you get used to it, it's all smooth sailing from there. thumb.gif

Not really. I always play alone on BC2 as well. Are there still squads in BF3?

Luckily its really nothing like MW, even the new close quarters map aren't much like MW. Yes there are still squads of 4 players and you can still spawn on people like in BC2. Origin is not that bad tbh even though I hate EA for making it, in the end you get used to it fast. Also loading your games through your web browser is weird/annoying at first but again you'll just get used to it.

BF3 is still good but it really is way better with friends because a lot of people who play dont know the first thing about team work. A lot of players are clearly former cod kids who only care about their kdr. All that being said I still think BF3 is a pretty good game and if you find it on sale for <=$35 definitely jump on it. For $50 its still good but I've seen it on sale many times so you could get it for less.

I'm an Xbox user but I've played my fair share of games...

I've put in a few days on Bad Company 2 and I really enjoyed it. I was excited for BF3 to come out. I didn't find the transition to BF3 very difficult at all really. It mostly played the same way as BC2. At times, the game can be very like MW3 but only in the sense of "how the heck did he kill me?!" (your typical response to any game really).

It plays really easy and I've already put in about 100 hours (not that much compared to some people but I don't play as much). I play BF3 more than MW3. The new map pack that came out, it's called Close Quarters in case you're wondering, makes it easier to play alone on the game because they're small maps.

The only thing that I don't really like so much is the ability to rent severs for the game. I'm not sure if this is an Xbox only thing (I assume) but sometimes you get into someones server and they don't let you use a certain gun or throw grenades or something and they will kick you. Kind of annoying, but just find a game from there!

Overall I really enjoy the game and it will for sure be worth the upgrade!

I think BFBC2 is better. 500hours on that and only 125hours on BF3.

I actually have more hours on Red Orchestra 2 than I do BF3, RO2 implements the 64 player maps much much better imo. There isn't the general lag, or getting shot 5 seconds after you have turned a corner. BF3 in general seems laggy when playing 64 player maps and there is a decent amount of clipping.

Nope, wait for $20 GOTY edition... Whenever/IF EA decides to do so.

I had upgraded my comp to a 680+4Ghz 2700k, thinking it was going to be the "savior of PC gaming" that many had claimed it would be on the forums. Was I totally disappointed.
