The H100 is kinda (very) expensive in here, and when considering that the H80 is very close to it and they both surpass the D14 in temps (marginally though) ill go on the Kuhler 920 (which equals to the H80) if budget will allow...

btw, how well the kuhler 620 performs with 2 good fans?

honestly i prefer the havik, i would get one if i had to do stuff over again, the H80 i think performs slightly under the d14, but is a good choice nevertheless.
to be honest though, the corsair A70 isn't bad if you can get it for a decent price, that or the mugen 3, people overlook the other good coolers around here, usually its just go big or super budget, but the in between coolers are just as good, only a few degrees here or there in comparison to the d14

The only problem with the havik is that it is very scarce and over priced. There is only one retailer that sells it, and for ~85$, while the D14 is ~72$, the antec kuhler 620 is ~70$, and the A70 (together with the Mugen/Ninja 3 and the unknown Thermaltake A80) for ~50$. (notice, the exchange rate is changing, so prices in translation will change after certain time but in NIS they stay, unfortunately, solid)

Are there any other underrated heatsinks? (preferably from the selection in the OP)

The Zalman CNPS10x performa seems to be pretty underrated. Tweaktown saw good performance from theirs, seen here http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/3199/zalman_cnps10x_performa_cpu_cooler/index6.html

It would also help if you could list the prices of the coolers your choosing from. I couldn't really work the site to sort the coolers (can't read it), but if the D14 is $72, and other ones are more expensive, that sounds like a good buy

I'm fairly sure that the H100 and H80 do not outperform the D14 in temperatures. Especially when you factor in noise. The only reason the H100 and H80 would do allright is they have fans spinning hundreds of RPM faster. If you put the same fans on the D14, the performance gap would widen more.

Someone confirm or show me how they actually stack up. I looked up reviews and got the D14 because it was quieter as well as cooler than the H100 since I refuse to let the fans be a vacuum on my desk.

How about the 10X Extreme? (im asking because it is the only version available. and is it possible to replace a fan on this?)
and the site is not difficult, the english titles and the images make it very simple (IMO).

Thanks for this link. according to it the Mugen 2 is a strong cooler, and when considering that the Mugen 3 performs the same and is just smaller it gives me some hopes biggrin.gif .

most review sites state that the H100 on max out-performs the D14 in 3C max, and the H80 too. (the H80 has some good fans, just loud)

The 10X Extreme is quite good as well, but you can't add a second fan to it. It might not need it though if you look at that comparison. (That's the Zalman using the stock fan vs. the others using a 88CFM Yate Loon)

Based on your stated options, I'd go with any of the Zalman 10X or 11X coolers or one of the Scythe Mugen coolers if you don't want to spend the money for the D14. If those aren't much cheaper just get the D14.

It is not completely about price, it is more about top / near top performance with aesthetics. My only problems with the D14 are that it's big (huge) and the uncertainty that the SP120 will be compatible with Its fan mounting system. (and overall the fact that with the D14 changing fans won't really improve perf unlike other coolers, thanks to Ehume and his many D14 testings thumb.gif )
