Latency Issues

Currently moved from the USA to the UK. I am having a problem with latency in WoW, currently sits at 1,000ms. Other games I play get the following :

LoL- 180ms
Diablo 3 - 150-200ms w/ rare small spikes
CS : Source - 80-150ms
SC2 - 150-200ms

These are all playing on US servers. Cannot figure out for the life of me why WoW is so high, especialy considering that other Blizzard titles are so low (in comparison).

The internet in my area is terrible, running DSL currently but they are supposed to upgrade to fiber optic Soon:tm: lol. Speedtest.net showed me at about 1.2M down and .5M up, downloading speeds hover between 80-90K and I stream Netflix on my PS3. Everything shows that gaming works, while not ideal, highly playable with these speeds but WoW is just totaly unplayable. HELP!

Well, if the Internet in your area is rubbish, you have no option but to wait for fibre optic or just try playing on UK servers.

Just confusing why WoW is the only game that has an unplayable latency on US servers. Everything else is very playable, while not ideal.

Already selected.

Edit : Nvm. Logged in today and its holding at 180ms. No clue what caused the issue but it seems to be gone....for the moment lol.

I know this helps WoW out a ton since it is one of few games that do not bypass it like I know CSS does.

Here is what you have to do.

And after you do that just restart your computer and you should be good to go. It should cut your latency in half or even more than half when playing WoW.

Is that what the leatrix latency fix does? I know it makes some changes that improve latency in game and I have used that.

I'm not sure exactly what leatrix does. It might do something similar but I would honestly just put the two registry entries in yourself. When I played back in the day it cut my latency from 200-300 to 50-100. You can always delete them if it doesn't do anything for you.

Leatrix is not the same but sort of does the same thing. With Leatrix basically it just sends an acknowledgement packet to the server even though the machine has not decapsulated and read the packet. There is more room for errors to happen this way but does bring the latency down because it is an instant acknowledgement, as opposed to the couple seconds it would take otherwise. My understanding of it. Nagles method is a little different from how I understand it but has similar results. I would turn off nagles algorythm before trying Leatrix, more reliable packet communication i would think.
