Need a new mouse now, would like some tips - Page 4

I have a R.A.T. 5 also. I really like it The nice surface hasn't chipped or anything yet, so it seems durable. I have dropped it once (or a friend did), and it survived that without a scratch. So, I think it is nice. The programmable buttons are cool, and the sniper button is the best way to improve accuracy for long range sniper shots.

When it comes to how I use my mouse, I use it in a claw grip with a bit of my palm on the mouse, and it is nice. I move my hand, not my arm, to move that mouse and it seems to be good for that.

Im not sure how you manage that with 6/11 windows sens and 3500 dpi, as i have to move my IME 3.0 (400 dpi) 4.72 inches to move it 1680 pixels in windows, with 6/11 and all accel completely off

220 pixels is not going to add a whole lot of difference there really

Realizing that I'm actually using a high sensitivity :/

You can calculate what dpi you want from that basis though since dpi is literally pixels per inch of movement. just divide your screen res by how much you want to move your mouse from one side to another.

like in my case my res is 1366, and I want to move my mouse 1.5 inches to get from left to right.

1366/1.5 = 910. and there you have your dpi requirements for your mouse.

Im leaning towards the DeathAdder at this point, i started looking towards the g400 and g500 and say all of the ocn reviews for the g500. I might get the g500, if it will be good for fps games. I know that i didnt give good examples of my sensitivity and i believe am a mid ranged player "Medium Sens: 360 degrees in 0.25 m (10"), roughly 400 DPI needed"

Well by those standards you don't really need anything more than the G400/Deathadder, most other lazer mice have acceleration, which is bad unless your're always using 3000+ dpi when gaming.

Anyway, just set it to 3500/3600 on desktop and rts, and drop down to 800/400 when playing fps, that's what I do with my g400 (but I use 1800 for rts because of my lowres screen) and it feels fairly accurate either way

What is the main difference between the g400 and g500?

I just bought R.A.T 7 MMO and it's horribly uncomfortable ! buttons seem to be in the wrong places and for all the customization i just can't get it right , my hand started hurting me after just 2 days and after 4 i went straight back to my Razer mamba.
For what it's worth i love the looks of RAT but that's about it.
I would advise getting Deathadder which is very similar to Mamaba , Logitech G500 or if you have more cash get the new Mamba , i had a lot of gaming mouses and this has been the closest to perfect gaming mouse i got.
If it only had a better battery and two more buttons it would be ideal.
Also check out Logitech G700 , i was going to buy this before i went with RAT(which i regret very much now)

G400 is an optical sensor, G500 is a laser sensor.

G400 is on the flawless sensor list, G500 is not.

If you go laser, go for a DeathAdder. For optical, go G400.
