Im very close to buying myself a Sabertooth 990fx, but my PSU is an issue at the moment, so im looking for a fix.
Basically, i have a bog standard 550W PSU, and dont have the money to fork out for a new one when i get the motherboard. Its only got a 4-pin ATX connection for the processor, but the sabertooth has an 8-pin socket, AND it probably wont reach from the bottom of the new case im getting. So i looked at some straight up 4-pin to 8-pin extension cables, but ive seen some reports of them overheating and actually setting fire...
I dont really want that.
But ive found this cable here
that has a molex connection as well as a 4-pin connection. Would this be good enough to handle the motherboard with overclocking etc? It has 6 5* reviews and seems good, but what do you think of it?
Thanks!
