Which of these two laptops is better?

Thread Starter
I have a laptop with i5 2410m and since it is giving me problems, i think i'll be replacing it with a new laptop.

Current specs:
i5 2410m @ 2.3 ghz
HD 6470m
4 GB DDR3
USB 2.0

Specs of the laptop in mind 1: (HP Pavilion dv6-6c10ez, white)
Amd a6 @ 1.7 ghz quad core
HD 7640G + HD 7670m dual
4 GB DDR3
USB 3.0

Specs of the laptop in mind 2: (Toshiba Satellite L750-1NH)
Intel Core i7-2670QM @ 2.2 ghz
GT 525m 2 GB (prolly ddr3 version)
8 GB DDR3
USB 3.0

All these laptops are for the same price so it is more or less like "give and take".

Which of the one do you guys suggest me to get?

Hp for gaming, Toshiba for crunching.

I would go with the toshiba, HP is loaded with bloatware plus the Toshiba specs are much better.

^That.

The 7670m dual should be slightly better than the 525m. However, I do not see any game that will be unplayable on the 525m suddenly become heaven on the 7670m. (note that the GT 525 is theoretically better than your 6470m so you won't lose out graphically )

The A6 processor is pretty capable and can hold it's own even though it has a 500Mhz disadvantage.

The laptop you pick depends entirely on your needs. If you have no intense gaming plans (maybe a little SC2 or diablo here and there and simple games), or, if you play with cpu-heavy programs then I'd say take the toshiba. If you want a few better frames in random games and don't do anything heavy on the machine, then the hp is a good one.

If your current graphics needs are being met by your current laptop, then I'd say take the toshiba.

Note: the recommendation is solely based on internal specs. I can't comment on which will have better build quality, touchpads, keyboards, less issues, etc.

Most Toshiba is just as bloated as HP, so either laptop will need a reinstall of Windows from the beginning.

As The_Chemist said, the GPU in the HP is better than the one in the Toshiba, So if OP wants to game, the HP is the better choice. The Toshiba has a much better CPU though.

Mainly for gaming but one of my priorities is also better battery life because i need longer battery life while i take notes during my lectures...

I won't be doing video editing or stuff like that so yeah, those are out of the league.

There are some good things and bad things about both laptops:

-toshiba one has 750 GB hard drive and usb 3.0 while HP one doesn't (sorry for the typo in OP). HP one has 500 GB hard drive.
-HP has 6 pack battery Li-Ion.
-Toshiba weighs around 2.5 kh while HP one weighs 2.9 kg
-Toshiba with 8 GB DDR3 vs HP has 4GB DDR3
-GT 525m is ddr3 i think while HD 7670m is ddr5
- Oh yeah, and HP one has flowery design on it lolz which is also a con for me xD

While both screens don't have HD quality.

The Hp will have a better battery life than the i5, the A series from AMD have great battery life in laptop

EDIT: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4444/amd-llano-notebook-review-a-series-fusion-apu-a8-3500m/7 This one is for thr a8 APU but you get the point on how the a6 consumes less

I would go with Hp Amd model and upgrade the ram yourself for ~$30 to 8gb 2x4gb kit. I have had usb 3.0 for about 1.5 years now and haven't used it more than twice thumb.gif so just ask yourself which option you need vs want.

lol ok, two things:
1. Do you guys think that there would be a big difference between 2.5 kg and 2.9 kh because apparently the laptop i'm using is 2.5 kg and the HP one weighs 2.9 kg.
2. The flowery design is killing me. I showed the laptop to my sis and ever since she saw it, she has been making fun of me lol. Is there a way to place a cover on the laptop?

So you guys suggesting me to go with Llano instead of i7? would it give me better FPS in games like gta iv, diablo 3 etc?

EDIT:

also those benchmarks are for A8 which is 35W version while A8 uses 45W, so i think it would consume more power than those CPUs, no?
