It's not bad bad for a basic system, but it is a bit lacking compared to an older 960T. The 1045T is a locked CPU,and it isn't guaranteed you'll get good clocks out of it,you can OC the crap out of most FX-6100's.

having downgraded from an 1100T to a FX-4100, I can tell you personally, the FX-4100 is not a bad CPU, and performs more then well enough for the tasks I put it though

If you want to game get a 4170. The FX memory controller is way superior to the old Phenom one. I have my Samsung WonderRAM rolling at 1740Mhz 8-8-8-24 and scoring above 12 GB/s on MaxxMem. This is using the stock cooler and running an ASUS AI suite auto-OC (one click of the mouse to hit 4.6Ghz @ stock volts) with the stock cooler. A phenom with regular cooling is not even going to come close to this 4170. All this trash talk about "blah Phenoms are better" is complete non-sense.

440

231

58 is a pretty darned good score on the 1080 Shogun 2 Benchmark. This is better than lots of guys running 2500s and $500 GPUs score in this benchmark, let alone Phenoms. That is with a $130 CPU and 2 GPUs @ $90 each.

New & Fast is better than Old & Slow.

I have been around the computing scene since the get-go and this used to be common knowledge. Not sure when this neo-Luddite "Old is Better" garbage became the norm. I can't explain it.

Not bad. A 4.6Ghz FX-4170 will equal a 4Ghz Phenom II,in memory intensive apps, the FX will run a lot faster. You're lucky if a Phenom II can even hit 4Ghz with a huge cooler.

I don't know and I don't care. This rig rocks at gaming, that is what I care about. If you want to sit around and stare at Super-Pi all day that's your business.
