Maxxmem is not an indicator of throughput. IBT/UCbench/Sisoft Sandra is
I'd like to know more about the throughput of that A8-3870 :yessir.gif:
PS..I've never said the IMC of Thuban is better than FX, that's one (the only?) thing that's better with those chips.
I may have said the cpu/nb didn't like to clock as high...because that was the experience for me.
If you can't tell it takes almost twice as long to load Windows/open something..idk..
hrmm 53..How many cores is that?

The APU's have insane Throughput because they have a full fledged GPU on die, the CPU side of it is just like any other Stars core based K10.5

With EXACTLY the SAME memory?? I agree, math is math and the FX CPUs have better throughput. It is a fact. Check the MaxxMemm thread. The top scores are ALL FX . The two 955s that you see listed towards the top are liquid nitrogen kookoo suicide runs. Anything with actual real world settings and the FX wins. It is not debatable at this point, get used to it.

Yeah, I think we get it. You are definitely obsessed with the poor imc improvement over Thuban. Congratz, now what you really should be excited about is the poor ipc improvement over Thuban.

Oh wait, did I say improvement?

Check out Sandra 2012. It is a really thorough bench and scores all aspects of your CPU. I think you will like it biggrin.gif

Example:

486

Does same thing for memory, gpu, and a lot of other stuff I don't even know.

Wow. The Introll negativity is one thing, but this is just getting ridicuclous. What power draw are you talking about? I am running @ 4.68 Ghz on the STOCK cooler and not getting hot. In Arizona. In the Summer. If there was huge power consumption, I guarantee you this little cooler they include would not keep up with it. My honest assessment is that this 4 core FX-4170 @ 4.6 Ghz draws about the same as my 2 core 555 did @ 4 Ghz. That is a fact.

My statement was concluded from the fact that the FX series as a whole draws much more power than what is necessary to reach that "speed".

4100/4170 isn't going to suck much power..that's for sure :lachen.gif:
Yeah..I do it for free..cuz it is what it is.. biggrin.gif
Hopefully that "resonant clock mesh" stuff puts the brakes on power consumption.
I wonder why the L1 cache is so tiny? :kookoo.gif:

Fascinating. Mine runs great, hits 4.6 Ghz on stock volts with one click of the mouse and stays cool, meaning it does not draw a lot of power. I think I will trust my own personal experience.

Thanks for trying to convince me that white is actually black though, and good luck with that in the future, you are going to need it.wink.gif
