My mother would freak out if she found out I spent 300 bucks on my graphics card.

Is your card not in warrenty? Cause its not a 700 dollar lost if it still is in warrenty.

It sounds like some kind of power surge went up your power lines. Your UPS is supposed and designed to stop things like that.

You may want to contact your UPS manufacturer is Asus won't replace it. Homeowner's insurance may also cover something like this.

I think you'll find with the latest drivers the 680 is faster. I hold the highest 590 on 3dmark11 over at overclockers.com.au and I have now thrashed that score with a single 680.
