Sharkoon Fireglider Laser Mouse

I need a gaming mouse for my laptop, as the touchpad really isn't cutting it for anything other than Civ4, and it's getting a bit boring lol. My main rig has an MX518 which is nice, and I use my old Razer Diamondback 3G at work (Vista's drivers didn't play nice with Steam, so I brought it to work).

Anyway, I've seen this on Amazon - 7 button laser mouse up to 3600dpi (although I'll probably only use it at 1600 or 2000). Looks pretty sexeh too! This should be ok to use on the arm of the sofa, right? I'm not playing FPS here, just RTS pretty much.

I know everyone here is loving Razer or Logitech, but they are big bucks considering what I can get for £20. Can anyone give me a reason I shouldn't go for it?

g400 for £25.24 with free shipping in the UK. I'd pay £5 more for it but I love my 518. smile.gif

Edit: Also, that's cheaper than I remember it being, money transfer to paypal time. tongue.gif

This mouse probably uses the same OEM as a4tech does, though I have never heard of Sharkoon before.

They make silent eagle fans if I recall correctly, their mice are probably fine but the quality doesn't look the best so I've never bought one.

A4tech actually has a very good reputation and I'm very pleased with one of their older mice I had in the past. So the build quality on this mouse shouldn't be bad.

Hmm, the G400 has nice specs (didn't realise optical sensors got to 3600dpi!), it's a bit boring looking though...

I take the point on build quality, though I've never ever had a mouse die. Actually, the wheel gave up on my old work mouse (just spun rather than 'clicking'), but that was a £3 Tesco special tongue.gif

Sharkoon Rush FireGlider & Black are rebrand of A4Tech XL-740K. All have Avago 6010. Do not buy.
