Final Fantasy 12 - Page 4

Hi all,
Respect to you x for this site.
Gonayete.
I've played and owned FF7, 8, 9, 1 and 2 on FF Origins. I've played 10 but never owned it. Does Kingdom Hearts fit into this category? I've played it but never owned it.

7. I think this was the best RPG i've ever played. I've not yet seen a game with a story like that.

8. I didn't like this game. The only cool thing was the graphics. The rules and gameplay sucked IMO.

9. I liked this game. It was over all fun, but there were lots of those "ok, w/e" parts in the game (lame puzzles or just running errands) that seemed pointless.

1. Really annoyed me. There were random battles every 10 steps or so you take. You finish one battle, start walking and within 5 seconds you're in another fight.

2. I played it for about 10 minutes, the power went out and i never played it again lol

10. I liked the graphics and the fact that there were voices now. The story was alright.

Kingdom Hearts. I've only played this at friends' houses. I always loved playing it and i liked the battle system. I would have bought it if i had a PS2.

****!! I forgot about Wild Arms... Which one did I play now that I really liked 1 or 2? I forget the number but I had a guy that could turn all red knight on people for a small time and do some serious damage.

Xenogears
Morrowind
Wild Arms
Final Fantasy 7
Suikoden

Sorry Chrono Trigger!

Any of you guys like FF9, I thought that was pretty good myself, though not as good as 7.

9 was the one with the monkey boy and the princess and all those mutated rats right? And the thing that liked to taste stuff?

Yeah I wasn't feeling that one.

Yeah I wasn't feeling that one.
FFIX was all about Square returning the game back to its roots. They pulled most of their ideas from FFI. Although not a remake, but rather to let you play a game in the "old style" storyline.

FFXII is really good so far. I love the fact that there are no more random battles. I thought the change would suck, but I really like it. I might be going out on a limb here, but it feels kinda like Zelda: Orcana of Time...more in-depth of course. (The play-style I mean)

I've played every single Final Fantasy there is, to include Tactics, Crystal Chronicles, and even Mystic Quest. The only ones not worth playing to me were FFX2, FFXI, and Tactics.

FFX2 was, I don't know how to say it proper, annoying.

Tactics was an "ok" game. Nothing wrong with it, just wasn't me.

FFXI was full of reasons for me not to play it. The install process took FOREVER. Logging in was annoying. The graphics were lackluster at best. Everywhere you went, it felt as though you were crawling...with no arms...no legs...just using your eye-lids to grab the soil and pull yourself...painfully slow. And seriously, what the hell is the deal with the card game? Were they to lazy to interweave it into the MMO itself? Also the fact that all -- ALL -- of the servers were in Japan. If you were like me playing the game outside of Japan, any rare spawn that was farmed relentlessly, by the time you'd see the rare spawn pop up, it was already dead. Latency for the lose. Lets not forget Squares "genius" plan to mix japanese speaking people and english speaking people on the same server while including a completely broken translator. I would have been better off being able to wield a stick and draw in the dirt than to use that translator. ///end rant.

I thought 9 had a good plot and it focused a lot on character development. Now that you bring it up, they did take some of FF1 and put it in there (like the "not anyone can use any magic" thing and all the castles and kingdoms and such), but they didn't remake it

Exactly. FF7 and FF8 were far more sci-fi leaning than FF started out as. FF9 was a throwback to the old days.

Actually, the play style is almost exactly like an MMO now. Check the monster's strength relative to yours (with the Libra skill). Fight him if you want, or avoid the fight by walking around him. If you run away in the middle of a fight, you're still going to get attacked from the rear unless you can outrun them. Queue up combat actions (gambits). Etc. All that's missing is some sort of on-screen "toolbar" for us to drag our most-used actions onto to save time navigating the menus.
