On topic: I just wish Windows could keep it's own registry clean. A "security wipe" or "delete all the junk" button would be more useful.

i could use this to back up alot of my crap i need and make CONSTANT modifications to that way if my primary fails and a autosave initiated and saved my work before the failure i'll be glad biggrin.gif

p.s. i use XBOX controller without Aim assistance i do better then the aim assistance at setting shots up.

This already exists; you access it by pressing the Windows Key or clicking the Desktop tile from the Start Screen.

On topic:
Microsoft Windows 8 Time Machine file history does sound quite useful. Plenty of times in the past where I wish I had this functionality.

Just in the name of sharing neat information: They can actually do some neat stuff with spying on wired devices. It's possible to wirelessly keylog a wired keyboard at modest distances (~20 yards) for instance. I'm not saying you should worry about it any time soon, just that it's doable.

Not at the consumer level though. Or at least not a kind of home version backup that makes multiple copies continuously to a networked archive drive. Am I mistaken? I'v gotten spoiled with VMS's native file versioning, so I am really looking forward to this. I'm hoping there will be NAS support soon for both this and Time Machine on a single networked HDD.

This does sound like time machine. This and the OS backup and restore should have come a long time ago - great addition to Windows.

Not like its a radically new feature, Windows already has automatic backup software built-in.

You mean shadow copies? Yeah, Windows has had it since Vista.
Tho there's no easy way to define the location, but it is possible.

I didn't know about that, but I meant in a user friendly and extensive kind of way that my dad might use.

I just use Git if I want to be able to roll back versions of documents. Plus I know what I changed with each revision.
