Corsair H100 questions

Hey guys, I am the proud new owner of a Corsair H100 Watercooler for my AMD FX 8150 chip.

So far its running nice and cool however i had a couple of questions that i cannot find an answer for:

1) I assume the 2 fans plug into the CPU block and the molex & fan cable on the block plug into the board/psu respectively, the guide wasnt very clear on this.

1.a) If the above is true what is the fan speed it is reporting? The fan cable from the block to the board reports 2000-2100rpm constantly even when i can clearly hear the fans speeding up? How can i monitor my 2x 120mm Radiator fans?

2) The button on the CPU block, it is not explained in the install guide and really i am not sure what it does, changing the 3 modes does not seem to effect the fan speed.

3) Is there any way to control the fan speed better, i mean so far im idle at 13c the fans could do with being a bit quieter.

Aside from that 13c idle 33c full load with 2000mhz ddr3 profile, im pretty happy wink.gif

1) Correct.

1a) Not sure, I don't plug it into the board.

2) Changes the RPM profile to prefer higher fan speeds.

3) No.

Thanks for the speedy reply, i just tried setting the button to the lowest and your right.....i was impatient, takes a min for the fans to slow down. Now its dead quiet, fkin love this!

If you dont plug the fan cable on the CPU block into the board what do u do with it? Just leave it unplugged? Or do you plug it into a converted molex.

So how do you monitor your fans rpm? or dont u worry about it?

Unfortunately my PC just died during a prime 95 test, i dont think it was heat related but if you have any possible advice the post is here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1279161/amd-fx-8150-large-temperature-spikes/40

1. True
1a. Pump Speed
2. Changes Fan Speed between low, medium, high (if your fans are plugged into the block)
3. Get a fan controller

Ahh Pump Speed.....so this never changes then i would assume? So basically there's no point in plugging it into the board socket other than maybe for "Fan Fail Warning" which would translate to "Pump Fail Warning"

What fans are you using, if you put them into the pump the middle button controls the speed, put it on high and they should be quiet until CPU heat increases, the other fan wire with the Molex is monitoring the pump speed
