Antec Eleven Hundred question?

Thread Starter
A question for all Eleven Hundred owners, How much space there is between the top 200mm fan to the MoBo top heatsink or the Ram ?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
(asking because im planing a WC loop that will use a 200mm rad which is ~36mm thick)

Help is very appreciated smile.gif

Edit:
ill change the question a bit:
What is the distance between the top of the case (where the 200mm fan is, but removed) to the Motherboard? (i.e. the top end of it)

Edit 2:
Who thinks it will be possible to pull of a 200mm rad at the top of this case? (general question of opinion)

There is about 39mm between the RAM retention clip and the bottom of the 200mm fan. At least on my mobo, the top front panel IO is closer. However, as you might be able to see in the picture, the 200mm fan dips below the motherboard tray, down close to the right side panel. Because of this, I think a rad would hit the board itself before any of that; there is about 32mm between the top of my mobo and the bottom of the fan.

Thanks for the pic! (still love the look of the SP120's)

i have found two things that give me some hope:
1) Antec only uses their Big Boy 200 fans as a 200mm fan which by specs is 30mm thick (and i plan to replace the fan anyway to a normal 25mm thick). Can you measure the top fan thickness?

2) This picture: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
35185_05.jpg[img]
gives additional hope! it looks like a CM Megaflow fan and because it looks like the rad is a bit smaller then it might not hit the MB.

Again thanks for the help!

(btw, it looks like you can place a 240 rad in the hdd rack fan mounts)

Edit:
found this picture (not sure how helpful it is, but i have found out that the first picture i gave was a 220mm fan)

Ok, I just measured my stock 200mm fan, it is indeed 30mm thick.

There definately seems to be room for a 240 rad behind the HDD bays, although the fan mount system might have to be modded slightly; those fans attach using plastic clips and are spaced out a bit: 700

I'll try to post another picture of that area tomorrow

Thanks! really helpful. so it turns out there is about ~62mm from the top to the MB tray, which is barely enough. (36+25=61<62)

and for a bottom rad, maybe a 120 will do because with a 240 ti might interfere with the GPU.

Not really much to say, it's not really a case geared for water-cooling, but there's definitly room for modding it thumb.gif

Like Anthony said, those plastic handles + space between the 120mm fans could create a problem, but you should be able to mod it.
Better to go with full air cooling or a 1 fan radiator with this (awesome) case if you don't plan to mod it.

i don't plan to mod it (yet tongue.gif ), but

"it's not really a case geared for water-cooling"
makes it interesting. (and the bottom rad, i think that the bottom clip can hold one fan and it, might, hold all of the 240 rad+2 fans firmly enough)

anyway, can you measure the distance from the top of the case to the MB ? (and if it isn't much of a hassle the distance from the HDD fan mount to your GPU)

It's a little bit more than 2 inches (~2.3 / 50mm) (Sorry for the crappy quality/focus)

450

For the distance between the mount to the graphic card (MSI R7950 TF3) is ~3.3 inches (85mm) and if you add the total "fan place", the depth it's about 100mm

450

Thank you btw, you made me realise how poor this sata cable power was placed tongue.gif

Thanks thumb.gif
a few things:
what fan is that on the top? (and can you measure the distance from it to the MB, it is more helpful because the fan mount is a bit raised from the roof of the case)
and that amount of space between the GPU and the HDD fans gives a lot of hope.

(by google 2.3 inches is actually ~58mm)
