Koolance RMA.....How is Their Service?

Hey guys,

I just got my rig all set up with my Koolance stuff and found out that fan channel 3 on the CTR-CD12 is not working.

I have set up a RMA with them as it has not even been 30 days since purchase, and was wondering about people experience with them.....

Well I am going to say I am not impressed that I had to pay shipping for a defective unit. I know when I order with NCIX.ca, the RMA is excellent. For about 3% of the final bill you get free shipping if a RMA is needed and it only takes 10 days to get back to me from the day I shipped it out.

I spend $1700 with Koolance, get a defective product, then have to spend another $35 to send it back, and then another $35 to have it shipped back to me. I also have heard that I will get the same unit back only repaired!? Thats not right, it was never even ran my computer for more than 3mins. Only ran when I went to bleed the air and thats when I found that 3rd channel fan was not working.

I had to vent.

Having to pay for shipping on a defective product isn't unheard of. You won't have to pay for shipping from them to you though.

NCIX is a retailer/reseller, not a manufacturer. Koolance is a manufacturer, not a reseller. A reseller has a manufacturer to fall back on in case of RMA. A manufacturer typically has to be more strict or else they wouldn't exist.

I won't have to pay from them? Thats a bonus I guess. I thought they told me they would send me the return shippig options when they are ready to ship.

I am not saying its not unheard of, but come on, its not like I ran it for a few months and then it crapped out. It was bad right out of the box.

If more companies had RMA like NCIX, I think there would be a lot more happy OC'rs, cause I know I am itching do run mine again. ( I know I can run it with out it...lol)
