Some of these "arguments" against IB remind me of reading AMD forums where they constantly say Intel is only a little better and in real world gaming it isn't noticed. Then they pop out all kinds of benchmarks and tests to prove a point. Its very simple, if you have a SB- no need to upgrade, if you're in the market for a new chip IB has advantages over SB and small price difference.

Reminds me of every new generation CPU ever released ..

Everybody holding onto last years CPU downs the newest cpu to make themselves feel better..

Ive seen it happen to every cpu for the last 10 years nothing gonna change on that front. lol.

When Haswell is out.. And you can buy a 2500k+mb for a 150$.. People who listened to these people are gonna be pissed..

But it will be the same boat us IB ppl will find things to down Haswell about...

Not me tho i Upgrade every new Generation... and sell the oldest generation i have...


So right now... I have a 3770k rig and a 2600k rig... Ill part of the 2600k rig for funds to buy the haswell system.. And the 3770k with move to the back up system.

Wouldnt consider that running "way hotter", in relation to its tjmax temperature it runs the same in your example.

Are you forgetting the heat output it adds to other components. If its 5C hotter, then your other components will reflect this which can also factor in to its "hotness". But what you say makes sense. In retrospect, there is absolutely no reason to get the 2500k anymore unless you are into extreme overclocking, are overclocking with the stock cooler or you can get the it for a good chunk less.

It does not.. IB Has issues moving the heat out.. Via tim and via 3d transistors...

My system temps are all in the green....

Also my computer room Avg temp with 4.6ghz SB 2600k was 75-77 degrees,

My avg pc room temps with IB 5ghz are 73-75 degrees.

Not always.
I sold my 1366 Rig to buy the IB rig... sold it afew weeks before 1366 value hit the gutter... sold cpu mb and ram for almost 400$

Buying 2 defective 7970s from newegg and having to ship them back via ups ground to get ur money back... and buying a gtx 670 FTW... and waiting on a reffund to get the 2nd is a wallet punch...

thats a bummer man. ive never had to RMA anything but i do know people who have and they always purchase Newegg's shipping vs going straight to ups or whatever. man 2 cards were bad?
