Aha ! Very good choice thumb.gif
Same for me, I ordered two 580 Heatkiller GPU-X3, the noIHS versions (I'll remove the IHS on my cards) and asked them to nickel plate the blocks and assemble the final product with "black hole" tops.
With two backplates, that should make for a really nice setup. Can't wait ! wheee.gif

Hey guys, I've been trying to get a hold of some of these shops but the only people who seem to respond are you guys and Koolance... looks like they'll be getting quite a bit of my cash.

But, I've got my nickle-plated GTX680 blocks on the way, now, nickle + ??? = bad. Is it only SILVER and NICKLE, am I good with cooper radiators? I want to make sure before I make an expensive error.

Also the nozzels I'm looking at are all from Koolance as well. They are all made of BRASS.

Now, I am leaning towards the compression type nozzels for my hoses, I'm not a big fan of the way the barbs look. But, again, since you all have been geniuenly helpful (and much thanks to all of you) which is better?

It's not silver, it's the quality of the nickel plating. There is a forum member recently having distilled with silver coils and out of two nickel plated VGA blocks only one was flaking pretty bad, the other one was flawless and probably a different batch.

EDIT: Removed image after cleaning the block thoroughly with lemon juice and rubbing alcohol, previous image was not an accurate representation of the corrosion. Newer photos added a few posts down.

^^^ were all the screws clean, I had corrosion in more than 1 screw hole as the plating had failed in the Oring groove.
this meant I had water on the wrong side of the Oring, my plating damage wasn't as bad as this
Disturbing to see this on the new plating, there is going to be a lot of disappointed people Americans
just about to buy some EK universal GPU bridge edition but without the plating, they are the only blocks I have found to fit the MSI560ti hawk
Its not my first choice but seems they are the only brand that fit my requirements

Wow Joe. Just wow. My old cpu-350 block, and water pumps out of my first water cooling endeavor (exos v1) are still going strong to this day over 6 years later. I would be furious if I only got 2 months out of a block, good god.

I busted out the lemon juice and isopropyl to see if it would clean up any, and a lot of that **** did wipe off but I don't think it was any type of algae because I've been running Kill Coils (I mentioned that I had 1 Kill Coil, but I'm running two ...I had forgotten about the second one that I bought when I got the GPU block)

Anyway, here are some shots of the actual copper showing through the nickel after cleaning it again
