Best 140mm Fans - Page 4

Forgot to mention this in the last post (and I already posted another reply hmmsmiley02.gif) but those Cougar fans would not work as well if they were mounted horizontally, correct?

If that is the case I'll just buy three of them, two on front and one in the rear/side panel.

it was super expensive but i like it a lot. it's quiet at full speed and doesn't make any annoying sounds
Thanks for the suggestion, but I'll probably end up getting the COUGAR fans. Corsair was just a little too expensive for me this time and so were the ones you recommended me. If they ever go on sale I'll definitely buy them.

Now I just need to know where I can mount my SSD so I can remove the bottom hard drive cage..

The TY-140 can be mounted horizontally. I mount mine that way.

SSD's can be mounted anywhere you can put Velcro. I have one of my SSD's mounted vertically on the side of my 3.5 cage.

I still don't even know if they would fit correctly on my Midi since the awkward size. How many fans do you guys think I should actually get? I am probably going to be spending a good $100+ on this if I say I am going to get as many fans as I say I am.

itd be close, but i dont think so as the tabs on the front panel have to hold the
near corners of the fan chassis. and the TY-140 shortens those off to fit in a 120
spot.

I was actually planning on mounting them on the top. For the front I'm going with the COUGAR fans.

I'm still unsure of how many fans I should actually buy. The COUGAR fans in the front would be ideal, right?

I was planning on using the three Midi fans as exhaust for the top or rear.

two strong cougars in front and twoFractal OE fans in the roof and one in the rear exhaust.
sound fine, two strong in a three weak out. only issue is that the CPU cooler will prolly
starve from depervation as the roof will suck what it can and the CPU will have to be
mighty powerful to over-come the roof vacuum action. that is why i mentioned roof fans
on air-cooling in this case is terrible idea. maybe the most forward fan, but thats all.

This is what I was worried about too. The top can only only have 140mm x 2 and 120mm x 1, right? The fan mounted that was already included on the top should be in the right position. It is mounted to the left as my heatsink for the CPU ends, so the air should be escaping. As for the rear, it should be fine as well. The heatsink is not that far away from it so I'll know it will b escaping. However, mounting the last fan in the middle on the top would be a problem. It'd be taking all the air away. If I could mount it as an intake from the middle to the CPU, would that work?

the roof can hold 3 x 140, not in line, but it holds three... if you'll look at your
case, remove the roof panel and look... you'll see exactly what is in the picture.
no roof fans unless it is in the front position! dude? 'cmon... you gotta help
me out here. im typing the same stuff over and over...

Sorry I would check but I'm not even home now.

So if I can't mount any on top unless it is in the front, what should I do with the other two fans? Put one on the side panel?

Not to steal your thread but what do you guys think of the Koolance 14025HBK? I've just recently been looking for some new 140mm fans for my Lian-Li case. The stock fans barely move any air. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

There's also the Scythe Kama FLEX 135 which seems to be another decent contender. It's a 135mm fan but with 140mm fan spacing.
