Is this a good 'Budget' PC?

A while ago, i made a threat about me buying a new high-end PC.
But plans have changed, i want to keep it cheap now. But still be able to enjoy the latest games


This is the setup so far:
417

Things I already have:

EVGA Geforce GTX570
Samsung SDD (128GB) SATA3
Seatools HDD 500GB.
Recom 700w PSU
Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit

I play games at 1440x990 resolution. I want to play games maxed out, with at least 40FPS. I MIGHT SLI the Geforce GTX570 Some day.

So how is this rig? Any good? Sorry for the dutch picture. But you get the point biggrin.gif

A 570 will easily play most games at 1440x900. It's probably slightly faster than my 480 and mine does just fine at 1920x1080.

You still need a PSU though.

Whoops, i forgot about my PSU

The PSU is a Recom 700w (I know, recom sucks..)

That PSU will not handle 2 GTX 570's I don't think, should you decide to go SLI.

  • I don't understand the point of brand favoritism.
I would get a better PSU and I would try to steer clear of SLI 570s, the 1.25GB of VRAM is bad for SLI. A single 570 should be able to get 60+ FPS at your current resolution.

Some alternative mobos to look at would be some Gigabyte UD3/4/5 boards, just get what is cheapest tongue.gif

Don't forget a cooler if you are going to overclock! thumb.gif
